New Delhi, Feb 16, 2025: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the schedule for the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The tournament will begin on March 22, 2025, with the final slated for May 25, 2025.
The season will feature 74 matches across 13 venues, including 12 double-headers. Afternoon games are set to start at 3:30 PM IST, while evening matches will commence at 7:30 PM IST.
In the opening match, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will host Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on March 22.
The first double-header of the season will take place on March 23, with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) taking on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in an afternoon game at Hyderabad. Later that evening, fans can witness an exciting clash between five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
The tournament promises to deliver thrilling cricket action, culminating in the playoffs, with Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator scheduled in Hyderabad, Qualifier 2 in Kolkata, and the grand final returning to Eden Gardens on May 25, 2025.
