BJP Veterans LK Advani and MM Joshi are Mentors, Not Decision-Makers

New Delhi, Aug 26, 2014:  BJP veteran LK Advani has been dropped from the new-look Parliamentary board that the party has announced today.

advaniHe has instead been handed the title of marg-darshak or mentor. So has another senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi, also dropped from the parliamentary board, the BJP’s highest decision-making body made up of 12 top leaders, led by new party chief Amit Shah.

Apart from Mr Advani and Mr Joshi, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former party president and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will also be mentors.

Mr Modi and Mr Singh are also part of the parliamentary board, which now includes new members like Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
