Nuh (Haryana), March 31, 2014: Congress president Sonia Gandhi Monday said the BJP was changing its mask again and people should reject the party whose heart is full of hatred.
Addressing a rally here in Haryana’s Mewat district, Gandhi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of misleading people by making tall promises in its bid for power.
"The BJP has changed its mask again and is shedding crocodile tears. They are trying to hide their real face and activities. People whose hearts are full of hatred cannot build and run a country," Gandhi said, in a reference to the 2002 Gujarat riots against one community.
Accusing the BJP of "flying balloons in the air" through tall claims and promises, Gandhi said: "They have only one target. They are only seeing the prime minister’s chair."
Calling the Lok Sabha election a "tough test" for the nation, Gandhi urged people not to get "influenced by the false promises" and vote wisely.
"This (election) is a tough test for the country, one which has never taken place before. Do not get influenced by BJP leaders who make false promises and shed crocodile tears... choose wisely and vote for Congress," Gandhi said.
Listing the achievements of the United Progressive Alliance government in the last 10 years, Gandhi said the central government worked for development and welfare of the people.
