Mysuru, April 8, 2025: The BJP’s 16-day ’Janakrosha Yatre’, condemning the Congress-led state government, alleging continuous hike in essential commodities, appeasement of Muslims, diverting Dalit’s funds for various purposes, was launched in Mysuru, on Monday.
By launching the rally from the Chief Minister’s home district, the BJP leaders also used the opportunity for a show of strength. The leaders, who were allegedly identified in different factions, joined hands and showcased their unity, during the protest.
Before launching the protest, the leaders, led by BJP state president B Y Vijayendra, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi gathered atop Chamundi Hill and offered special pujas to the Goddess.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi participated in the rally from Nehru Circle to Town Hall premises, accompanied by Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly R Ashoka, MP Govind Karjol, MLAs T S Srivatsa, Arvind Bellad, leaders D V Sadanandagowda, Pratap Simha, C T Ravi, Sriramulu and others. They garlanded the statue of B R Ambedkar in front of the Town Hall.
Pralhad Joshi targeted the Congress government alleging "The Gruha Lakshmi money is not reaching the women. But the government has increased the prices of 48 commodities, including diesel, milk and others. They have hiked the money to get birth and death certificates also".
Filing cases against those questioning them has increased in the state. People are being victimised due to the guarantee schemes. The heat of BJP’s struggle will have an impact on the government, he said.
The Union government has brought a law banning triple talaq, repealing Article 370 and the Waqf amendment. The BJP led Union government has not hiked the prices, he said.
R Ashoka claimed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and DCM D K Shivakumar as ’Kalla-Malla’. They have been sucking the blood of the people through levying taxes. Hence, the BJP has launched the Janandolana to create awareness among the people, he said.
’Priyanka Vade’
"Siddaramaiah hasn’t worn the skull cap, that’s all. Besides that he has given reservation to Muslims and ’Shadi Bhagya’. To please Congress leader Priyanka Vadra, he has offered to lift night traffic ban in Bandipur, to connect Kerala", Ashoka alleged. Ashok mispronounced Priyanka Vadra as ’Priyanka Vade’, which was immediately corrected by Pralhad Joshi.
MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar said, "The University of Mysore has presented a deficit budget due to the mismanagement of Congress. Several Universities in Kodagu, Hassan and other places are being closed. No step has been taken for the expansion of the Mysuru airport and railway network. It has been resorting to lift the night traffic ban in Bandipur for the benefit of Kerala".
Opposition leader in legislative council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy said, "Chief Minister has returned the MUDA sites and accepted his mistake. There is a competition between the Congress leaders to pay the high command. The Janakrosha Yatre will have an impact on the state government’s tenure, he said.
B Sriramulu said, "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is fearing of losing his CM’s chair. All the Congress leaders are worried over the power and not concerned over the people’s problems. People are finding it difficult to lead a peaceful life. The prices of all essential commodities have been hiked".
MLA C N Ashwath Narayana, Ramamurthy, leaders Murugesh Nirani, P C Mohan, B Harshvardhan, Ravikumar, P Raju, Preetham Gowda, Nandish, Narayanagowda, Raghu Kautilya, Narayanaswamy, Phaneesh, A S Nadahalli, L Nagendra and others were present.
