BJP leader shot dead, all three accused identified in CCTV footage

Patna, August 6, 2015: BJP leader Avinash Kumar was shot dead by unidentified assailant in Patna on Thursday.


Unidentified goons chased a BJP worker and shot him dead in cold blood in Patna’s bylanes on Thursday morning.


According to ETV report, Kumar was shot dead by three men when he was on his way to a tea shop near a temple in Salimpur Ahra locality.

"Three people involved in his killing were identified through CCTV footage and we will arrest them soon," a police official said.


With the Bihar Assembly polls round the corner, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including local legislator Nitin Navin, have linked the incident to the deteriorating state of law and order in Patna and across the state.

"Killing of BJP worker has vindicated our stand that law and order has totally collapsed in the state," he said.

Avinash is the general secretary of BJP’s local unit.
