BJP top leaders attend wedding of Yeddyurappa’s grand daughter

Bangalore, May 30 2012, DHNS: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s granddaughter’s wedding reception here on Wednesday turned out to be an informal meeting of the BJP senior leaders.

Though not a platform for scoring political points, the event saw participation by the central leadership and the State BJP leaders, including some of his arch political rivals, along with Governor H R Bhardwaj, top businessmen, heads of religious mutts and glitterati from the filmdom.

 

 

 

Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi are among the national leaders who arrived by special flights to attend the reception at Bangalore Palace.

 

 

 

However, H N Ananth Kumar, party general secretary was conspicuous by his absence. He attended the party meeting in the morning and left for New Delhi in the evening to co-ordinate among the NDA partners for Thursday’s bundh call.  Yeddyurappa’s granddaughter B U Apoorva, daughter of S Y Aruna Devi, is marrying her classmate B Chandrakanth. They completed their engineering course together.

The wedding is scheduled to be held on Thursday at the same venue. Modi felicitated pontiff of Siddaganga Mutt seer Shivakumar at the function. Golden star Ganesh, Dwarkish, Tara were among those who attended the event.
