Bengaluru, Nov 19, 2015: Former deputy CM of Karnataka and BJP leader K S Eshwarappa, who is known for his controversial remarks, on Wednesday once again found himself on the wrong side after suggesting a "ban on the media for glorifying rapes."
Eshwarappa, who was participating in a discussion on law and order situation in Karnataka in the ongoing winter session of the legislature, expressed disappointment with the media. "I don’t know what these newspapers print. I don’t feel like reading them. The TV channels are even… I will be grateful to you if you ban the media for the way they are portraying these crimes," he said in the Legislative Council.
Only recently, Eshwarappa had told a lady journalist that the Opposition leaders could do nothing if she was raped in response to a question from her. Though he apologized later for his statement, Eshwarappa has not stopped from making sensational statements.
