Bellandur lake issue will be solved within 1 or 2 years: Siddaramaiah

New Delhi, Aug 17 2017 DH News: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday said the state government is taking all steps to address the problems in Bellandur Lake in Bengaluru and assured that all issues will be resolved in within one or two years.

"The government is taking all necessary action. All problems will be solved within one or two years," the CM told reporters after meeting Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here.

“The government is also concerned about the froth emanating from the lake and a team of officials have been formed to look into the issue, he said.

Due to heavy rain in Bengaluru for the past two days, the Bellandur Lake once again spilt toxic foam, which grew to such an extent that the residents have started complaining of foul smell and pollution.

Earlier, the CM met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and requested him to sanction more funds to the state to take up drought relief works.
