Bengaluru man issues threats to Congress leaders on Facebook, arrested

Bengaluru, Nov 16, 2023: Bengaluru police arrested a person on Wednesday for making threatening remarks against Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and his brothers. In a Facebook post, Ranjith RM wrote "Kill DK brothers".
He had earlier targeted the Congress party and the Muslim community on Facebook. The arrest came after a complaint was filed by Sharath, Vice President of Jayanagar Youth Congress, who alleged that Ranjith had made several derogatory posts in the past.
Ranjith’s Facebook page, where he identified himself as a ’Cyber Crime Detective at Bangalore City Police,’ contained provocative content targeting Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK brothers, the Congress Party, and the Muslim community.
His posts also included advocating for the slogan "Kick out Congress."
