Bengaluru, May 19, 2023: As hot and humid weather continued to prevail in Bengaluru and parts of Karnataka, the weather office has said the state is likely to get respite soon as rains are expected in parts of the state over the weekend.
According to the IMD, a thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds warning was issued for the parts of South Interior Karnataka on May 21 and 22. A similar warning was issued for the coastal region on May 22.
As of 4 pm, Thursday, no warning was issued for North Interior Karnataka. The Met department said rains are also likely in Bengaluru on Saturday and Sunday.
“Generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely on May 20 and 21,” the IMD said, adding that the maximum and minimum temperature would hover between 33 and 22 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The humid weather continued to prevail in several parts of Karnataka on Thursday. According to the IMD data, Bengaluru recorded a maximum temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius – a two-degree departure from normal.
