Bhatkal: Schoolgirl lured to Bangalore, raped

Bhatkal, Jan 29, 2013: An 11-year-old schoolgirl from Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada district was raped in Bangalore on Monday, after she was lured into going to the city.

A missing complaint was lodged at the town police station about the class six girl, who left home Sunday evening, saying she was going for tuitions.

On the way to the tuitions, she came in contact with Toushif from Shirali. He lured her into going with him on a bike to Shirali. There, he made her board a bus to Bangalore. She landed at the Bangalore bus stand Monday morning, from where the accused, Riyaz, took her to an unidentified place and raped her.

In the evening, he made her board the same bus on its return journey to Bhatkal. She arrived in the town Tuesday morning and narrated the incident to her family members. A case has been registered with the Town Police, who got her medical test done, and launched a probe.

Five-year-old raped, hanged to death
Bijapur: A five-year-old girl was raped by unidentified persons and hanged to death with a rope in the Sindhagi police station limits on Monday. A case of rape and murder has been registered at the Sindhagi police station on a complaint given by Shantappa Rayappa Srishailappagol of Yargal B K.
