Boost to Covid fight: Health ministry approves 2 new vaccines, 1 drug in a day

New Delhi, Dec 28, 2021: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved Corbevax and Covovax Covid vaccines and anti-viral drug Molnupiravir for restricted use on adults in emergency situations.
Tweeting about the development, Union Health Ministry Mansukh Mandaviya said: "CORBEVAX vaccine is India’s 1st indigenously developed RBD protein sub-unit vaccine against #COVID19, Made by Hyderabad-based firm Biological-E."

Further strengthening the fight against COVID-19, CDSCO, @MoHFW_INDIA has given 3 approvals in a single day for:
- CORBEVAX vaccine
- COVOVAX vaccine
- Anti-viral drug Molnupiravir
For restricted use in emergency situation. (1/5)
The Subject Expert Committee (SEC) of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has recommended the approval for emergency use of vaccine candidates Covovax by SII and Corbevax by Biological E. Anti-viral Covid pill Molnupiravir has also been recommended for approval in India by SEC.
