Uttar Pradesh, August 3, 2024: A day after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by two men in Ayodhya, the district administration on Saturday arrived at the bakery of the accused Moid Khan with a bulldozer.

The Samajwadi Party (SP) leader is the main accused in the minor gangrape case.

The bakery was sealed by food adulteration department and action to demolish it was started on Saturday. "The bakery has been sealed after it was found illegal and action to demolish the bakery is being initiated", SDM Sohawal, Ashok Kumar, said.

Several other properties of the accused might be demolished.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Friday met the minor girl who was allegedly raped by two men in Ayodhya. Following the meeting, two Uttar Pradesh cops were suspended for delay in carrying out the investigation in the case.

Following the meeting, Station House Officer (SHO) of Purakalandar police station Ratan Sharma and Bhadarsha outpost in-charge Akhilesh Gupta were suspended for delay in carrying out the investigation in the case.

Bakery owner Moid Khan and his employee Raju Khan were arrested from the Purakalandar area in connection with the case on July 30.

According to police sources, the teen was raped by the duo two months ago and the act was also recorded. The incident came to light when a recent medical examination revealed that the teen was pregnant.

Speaking in the state assembly on Thursday, Yogi Adityanath claimed that Moid Khan belonged to the Samajwadi Party.

"Moid Khan is from the Samajwadi Party and a member of the Ayodhya MP’s team. He has been found involved in a case of rape of a 12-year-old. The Samajwadi Party has not taken action against him," he said.

Responding to the ruling BJP government’s actions, Samajwadi Party said that the state government should conduct DNA tests on all the accused.

In a post on X, the Samajwadi Party said, “The BJP government should conduct DNA tests on all those accused of serious crimes to find justice, rather than engaging in politics over the matter. The guilty should receive the full punishment according to the law, but if the DNA tests prove the accusations false, the involved government officials should also not be spared”.

The party also said that the UP government is trying to defame the Samajwadi Party instead of helping the survivor.

“Instead of helping the victim, the government is involved in a conspiracy to defame the Samajwadi Party. The government should immediately provide the victim with financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh,” the post by the party said.

Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati called the actions taken by the BJP government in the Ayodhya rape case appropriate.

She said, “The strict action being taken by the Uttar Pradesh government against the accused in the Ayodhya gangrape case is appropriate, but what should we make of the Samajwadi Party’s statement that the accused should undergo a DNA test? The Samajwadi Party should also clarify how many DNA tests were conducted against such accused individuals during their own government’s tenure”.
