Avinash Singh Sudan, New Delhi, Mar 14, 2014: A website has uploaded questions, it claims, from a leaked paper for CBSE Class XII Biology examination to be held on Saturday and claimed that “leaked handwritten questions were being sold in Manipur”.
The same website, www.hueiyenlanpao.com, had earlier uploaded three sets of CBSE Class XII Physics paper, meant for Manipur. This had led the Central Board of Secondary Education to cancel the paper in that state and announce a fresh examination on April 2.
The Board is yet to confirm that the Biology paper has been leaked. “There are three to four sets of paper distributed in each region. So, there is a possibility that these questions won’t appear in tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) paper,” said a CBSE spokesperson. The website said, “We have come across these questions and we are uploading them on our website for the public to ascertain whether the same questions are being asked in the Biology exam tomorrow (Saturday).”
Earlier this month, the website had uploaded three sets of Class XII Physics paper for All India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination. It said the leaked Physics question paper was sold between Rs 3,000 and Rs 5,000 in the state.
Later, the Board confirmed that the Physics question paper was leaked in Manipur. Around 4,000 students will take the Physics test in all the centres in Manipur.
The Biology paper carries 100 marks, including 30 marks for practical examination.
In 2011, there was a case of a CBSE Class XII question paper getting leaked in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in which four people were convicted and sentenced to life. But no re-examination was ordered.
