Bangalore, June 13, 2014: Speaking to press on the sidelines of a function organised to observe Anti-Child Labour Day; Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that he had no plans to appoint retired IPS officer Kempaiah as his security adviser, even saying that there was no proposal for appointing a security adviser at all.
The chief minister it is understood backtracked on the move, following opposition from his own partymen. Many senior ministers and Congress MLAs were against the move it is seen. Many party MLAs had in the past raised objections to the alleged interference of the retired officer in the functioning of the Police department.
