Gujarat, Mar 30, 2020: A 45-year-old COVID-19 patient has died in Gujarat, taking the tally of the state to 6, said an official on Monday, 30 March. Meanwhile, a woman infected with the coronavirus died at a state-run hospital in north Bengal during the day, taking the total number of COVID-19 deaths in West Bengal to two, hospital sources said, Yahoo.
As per Health Ministry data, there are a total of 1,071 cases across the country, with the death toll at 29.
Meanwhie, the government asserted on Monday that “rumours and media reports” claiming that the 21-day lockdown to check the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19 would be extended are “baseless.”
Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla on Sunday asked all states and Union territories to allow transportation of all goods, without distinction between essential and non-essential, during the nationwide lockdown imposed to curb the coronavirus outbreak.
