COVID-19: 7 more cases confirmed; Karnataka figure stands at 41

Bengaluru, March 25, 2020: A total of seven persons confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Karnataka on Tuesday, according to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, bringing the total number of positive cases to 41. Also, a total of three patients have been discharged to date. Thirty-seven COVID-19 positive patients are in isolation at designated hospitals and are stable.

Patient number 36 is a 65-year-old male, a resident of Uttara Kannada district, with a history of travel to Dubai, who arrived at Mumbai on March 18 and travelled to Uttara Kannada by train.

Patient number 37 is a 56-year-old female, a resident of Chikkaballapura district, family member and a co-passenger of P19 and P22, had history of travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia and arrived at Hyderabad, India on 14.03.2020. The case is isolated at designated hospital in Chikkaballapura.

Patient number 39 is a 47-year-old male, a resident of Kasargod, Kerala, with a history of travel to Dubai, who arrived at Mangaluru. He has been directly quarantined and isolated from the Airport to the designated hospital in Mangaluru.

Patient number 40 is a 70-year-old female, a resident of Kasargod, with a history of travel to Saudi Arabia, who arrived at Mangaluru. The patient number 41 is a 23-year-old male, a resident of Kasargodu, with a history of travel to Dubai, who arrived on March 20 at Mangaluru. He was quarantined and isolated from the Airport to the designated hospital in Mangaluru.

Of the 41 cases detected and confirmed in Karnataka, so far three cases are transit passengers of Kerala.
