Caught on camera: Newborn girl dropped from car on empty UP street

Muzaffarnagar, UP, June 07: In an act of utter inhumanity, a person was seen dropping a newborn girl from a car on to an empty street in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, before fleeing from the scene.

The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday and was captured on a CCTV camera installed nearby.

News agency ANI shared the CCTV footage on its Twitter handle. In the video, a gray Santro car is seen driving through an empty street.

A few seconds into the video, the car stops in front of a house, a person with his/her faced covered opens the door and drops the child along the street. Following this, the vehicle speeds off.

ANI has claimed that the person who dropped the infant is a woman. However, it is not clear from the video whether the person was a man or a woman.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Muzaffarnagar has said the newborn is being treated but is in a critical condition. "We are hopeful of her recovery," the official was quoted as saying by ANI.
