Dubai, Feb 23, 2025: Virat Kohli delivered a masterclass, smashing his 51st ODI century, as India defeated Pakistan by six wickets in a one-sided clash at the Champions Trophy 2025. The victory, achieved with 7.3 overs to spare, virtually secured India’s spot in the semi-finals while pushing Pakistan to the brink of elimination.
After opting to bat first, Pakistan struggled to build momentum in a stop-start innings, posting a modest total of 241 before being bowled out with two deliveries remaining. Saud Shakeel (62) and Mohammad Rizwan (46) were the top contributors, but their efforts fell short of setting a challenging target. Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav shone with the ball, claiming 3 for 40.
In response, India cruised through the chase with Kohli anchoring the innings, finishing unbeaten on 100. Shreyas Iyer (56) and Shubman Gill (46) provided valuable support to seal the win comfortably.
The victory extended India’s unbeaten run against Pakistan in ODIs since the 2017 Champions Trophy final, with the head-to-head record now standing at 6-0 in India’s favor.
