Women rights activists say that the IIM administrative should have taken action over this complaint by now. IIM officials say that the probe is still under process and so it was too premature to talk about it right now. However, activists say that IIM’s own rules state that action should be taken in an inquiry of this sort within one month of the complaint.

Women’s rights activist Donna Fernandes said, "There is no moral right to call itself an institute of management because all this is mismanagement here. It is a malpractice to not take action in a sexual harassment case. It’s the director’s responsibility to ensure safe working place for women."

On the other side, employees of IIM staged a counter protest defending their administrative officer, saying they stand by him as the probe is still under process. Women’s groups have also said they plan to meet with the management in the next couple of days to take this probe forward.
