Bengaluru, Jan 5, 2025: Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday alleged that the commission percentage has reached 60% in the Congress-led Karnataka government.
Speaking to the press in Mysuru, the JD(S) leader claimed, "Even Congress party workers have admitted this. Bribery is also involved in housing allocations for the poor."
"Earlier, it was the Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) who collected bribes. But now, ministers in Vidhana Soudha are openly accepting bribes. Is this what you call Satyameva Jayate? For them, Satyameva Jayate is merely an advertising slogan. Is Chief Minister Siddaramaiah living by Gandhiji’s principle of Satyameva Jayate? Let him answer his own conscience. Is there no limit to their greed for looting public funds?," H D Kumaraswamy questioned.
He added, "The condition of contractors in the State is pathetic. Even contractors who support Congress are now saying that the previous BJP government was better. Siddaramaiah and the Congress party will have to pay a heavy price for this in the coming days. "
Regarding the 15% hike in KSRTC bus fares, he alleged, "Like the saying goes, taking from mother in law’s pocket and giving to the son in law, is this government robbing the people to give them their own benefits? The bus fare hike will burden the common man. No minister’s or MLA’s children travel by government buses. Only common people use them. Even an additional Rs 10 per day is a burden for them,"
