New Delhi, Feb 11: As Parliament continues to get disrupted over Telangana, the Congress has now expelled six Seemandhra MPs for protesting against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Those expelled are - Sabbam Hari, GV Harsha Kumar, V Arun Kumar, L Rajagopal, R Sambasiva Rao and A Sai Pratap.
"Today’s action is for separate Telangana. Our most important goal is to clear Telangana in Parliament," said Congress leader Ajay Maken.
This comes a day ahead of the tabling of the Telangana Bill in Parliament. The Telangana Bill is likely to be brought in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, said the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday. The government is likely to seek a fresh Presidential recommendation for its introduction first in the Lok Sabha.
The government had on Monday night sought the Law Ministry’s advice on the matter. This is because there was a question as to whether it should be brought in the Lok Sabha first rather than the Rajya Sabha as it is a money bill.
The Telangana tangle has been continuing to trouble the government in its last session with continuous uproar in the House. On Monday, Seemandhra MPs yet again raised slogans on the floor of the House even as the government prepares to introduce the Bill in the Rajya Sabha.
