New Delhi, March 22, 2025: Accusing the Congress of pursuing "contract jihad" in Karnataka after the state assembly passed a bill that allows 4 per cent reservation for Muslims in government contracts, the BJP on Friday said that it was Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who pushed the decision.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra claimed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi pushed the state government’s decision, alleging he was using the crutches of Muslim quota to advance his politics as he knows that he will be not be otherwise able to deliver.
"Gandhi is politically unfit for sound political decision and that is why he is resorting to appeasement politics," Patra told the reporters here.
Terming the reservation to muslims in government contracts as the height of appeasement politics, Patra said the Congress can give even a 100 per cent quota to the minority community in pursuit of its appeasement politics.
The BJP leader claimed that it is such an appeasement politics which had led to the country’s division in 1947.
