For moderate cases, if there is resolution of symptoms, and if the patient maintains O2 saturation of more than 93 per cent for three successive days without O2, then that person will be discharged, said Agarwal.

For mild cases, the discharge will be after at least seven days from testing Covid-19 positive and if the patient remains stable for three successive days. There will be no need for testing prior to discharge, Agarwal added.

Maharashtra, West Bengal, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are emerging as states of concern by reporting high positive rates. Maharashtra has a case positivity rate of 22.39 per cent, West Bengal has 32.18 per cent, Delhi has 23.1 per cent and Uttar Pradesh has 4.47 per cent, said Aggarwal.
