Hyderabad, August 26, 2012: Indian spinners left nothing to chance and an uncertain weather as the hosts here wrapped the New Zealand innings to register a  win by an innings and 115 runs in the opening Test, inside four days.

CricketNew Zealand must have been praying for rain in Hyderabad on Sunday. It worked for two hours but proceedings eventually did begin. Once the play began, spinners R Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha returned to take charge.

Ashwin in particular was relentless as he took a five-wicket haul and finished with 12 wickets from the Test.

Kane Williamson provided some resistance as he worked out his fifth Test fifty but gave in after adding two more to his total. Ojha struck with the first of the day but Ashwin soon took over and cleaned up the middle-order with arrogant ease.

The second Test starts August 31st, in Bangalore.
