Delhi, Nov 08, 2017 : A seven-year-old girl, allegedly gang-raped in outer Delhi’s Kanjhawala, is battling for her life in a city hospital. The accused are juvenile and have been apprehended.
The incident took place on Friday when the girl along with her elder sister went to use a public toilet. When her elder sister went inside the loo, an accused, allegedly known to the victim, lured her for a bicycle ride. Then, the accused allegedly raped her and dumped her near the toilet. Her sister later found her unconscious.
The victim’s parents later approached police. She was rushed to BR Ambedkar Hospital where she underwent a major operation. Since then, she has been kept under observation.
Based on her statement, the accused was identified and later apprehended. He confessed to the crime and helped police nab his accomplice. Both have been charged under the POCSO Act.
DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal said, "I need the system to ensure death penalty for child rapist within six months. Then only fear will be created."
