Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia detained at RML hospital; Arvind Kejriwal slams PM Narendra Modi

New Delhi, Nov 02, 2016: The Delhi Police on Wednesday detained Manish Sisodia at a hospital where the Deputy Chief Minister had gone to meet the family members of an ex-serviceman, who allegedly committed suicide over the issue of One Rank One Pension scheme (OROP) here.

Sisodia was detained at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

Taking to Twitter, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked if the deputy CM of a state goes to condole the death of someone, would he be arrested.

The 70-year-old ex-serviceman Ram Kishan Grewal committed suicide by consuming poison at a park in New Delhi area last evening.

Police said he, along with some other ex-servicemen, was in the process of submitting a memorandum to the Defence Ministry over the issue of OROP.

According to his friends, Grewal had been upset over the issue for some time.

Ex-servicemen have been protesting over the OROP scheme introduced by the government.
