New Delhi, April 11, 2016: A Delhi Metro staffer was stabbed at the Rajendra Place Metro station today morning. The attackers also took away Rs 12 lakh kept at the ticketing counter inside the station control room.
Police are examining the CCTV footage of the Metro station to identify the attackers who attacked the metro staff at about 5.30 am.
This is probably for the first time that criminals have targeted the control room situated at a metro station.
The Central Industrial Security Force is responsible for providing security at metro stations across the national capital region.
As per CISF sources, mandatory frisking of the two attackers were done at the metro station. "It may be possible that they used the knife kept inside station officer office to attack the staffer. We are probing the incident," CISF sources said.
