Doctor who performed castration on Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s followers arrested

Haryana, Jan 08, 2018 : The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Haryana Police, which is investigating the Panchkula violence case, today arrested a doctor who is accused of performing castration on Dera followers.

 

The team nabbed Dr MP Singh alias Mahender Insan from the Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters, police sources told India Today.

Wanted in the Panchkula violence case, Mahender Insan is also a close aide of rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Mahender was absconding after a case was registered against him in Chandigarh’s Sector 5 police station on August 28.

Mahender is a qualified surgeon who allegedly castrated several followers on being directed by Ram Rahim in a Dera-owned hospital.

He was reportedly hiding inside the Dera Sacha Sauda complex where the police, after high court’s direction, had also conducted a sanitisation drive in September last year.

The accused surgeon’s name also figured in Panchkula police’s most wanted list. He is likely to be produced in the court on Monday.

Mahender had joined Dera Sacha Sauda in 1995 and is accused of castrating at least 300 Dera followers.
