Dramatic scenes at Bangalore Press Club: ’Bomb Naga’ ’attempts’ suicide

Bengaluru, Apr 06, 2018 : Almost a year ago, rowdy sheeter V Nagaraj alias Bomb Naga, who was in news after a team of East division police raided his house and reportedly recovered Rs 14 crore demonetised currencies at his house in Srirampuram is in news once again.

 

 

Nagaraj who had called for a press conference at the city’s press club premises had attempted suicide by consuming poison on Friday afternoon at around 2 pm.

Nagaraj, a resident of Srirampuram, is alleged to have come with his supporters distributed the press release to the members of media. When he started to talk, he took the names of two Congress party MLAs,of whom one is a sitting minister and the other, a former minister and claimed that they have harassed and cheated him.

While talking, he showed a small bottle before the media and started drinking it claiming to be poison and he is committing suicide unable to bear the harassment. He was immediately rushed to the Bowring hospital by his supporters. The media fraternity informed the jurisdictional Cubbon Park police about the alleged suicide attempt.

The press note which Nagaraj circulated states that since he had a clear chance of winning the coming assembly elections in the Gandhinagar assembly elections, the present Congress MLA in collusion with several police officials including IPS officers have filed around nine false cases and have opened rowdy sheets against Nagaraj and his two sons, Gandhi and Shastri. Nagaraj, who is a former corportaor has listed the names of 80 people who are alleged to have harassed him and his family.
