Rewa, Nov 08, 2022: BJP MP Janardan Mishra attempted to nudge the conscience of people to apprise them of the importance of water during a recent event in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa. The politician told people that they can drink alcohol, chew tobacco, smoke weed, or smell thinner, but understand the importance of water.
Implying that water conservation was non-negotiable, the BJP MP said, “Lands are running dry of water, it must be saved... Drink alcohol, chew tobacco, smoke weed or smell thinner and solution, but understand the importance of water.”
He said most water bodies were drying up and people were emptying groundwater by digging borewells and tube wells.
He stressed the need to replenish groundwater and invest in water conservation. “If you use more water and do not let water seep into groundwater, the future generation will be left with no water.”
