Lucknow, Sept 22, 2013: Although IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, met state Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav reportedly to ’apologise’ on Saturday, sources say that the Uttar Pradesh government is yet to take a decision on revoking her suspension.
Nagpal was suspended by the Uttar Pradesh government in July this year for allegedly demolishing the wall of a mosque in a Greater Noida village.
There were reported chances of her reinstatement after her first meeting with the CM since the July controversy, but sources say that the state government is yet to take a decision as the enquiry that had been ordered against her is still on.
Durga Nagpal had last month met Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to explain her stand.
Critics had slammed her suspension, saying the move followed her strict action against the politically-connected illegal sand mining mafia in western Uttar Pradesh.
