Bengaluru, April 18, 2025: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) paid a visit to a Bengaluru man, whose claim of owning a wolf-dog worth Rs 50 crore had stirred quite a sensation on social media.
The ED officers searched the residence of Satish S, who identifies as a celebrity dog breeder, and found no documentary evidence that he owned the breed called Cadaboms Okami, a rare hybrid of the wolf and the Caucasian Shepherd.
Several media organisations, including ones with international presence, had reported on Sathish, 51, and the canine.
Sathish had told one of the news organisations that the dog was bred in the US, and he spent Rs 50 crore to import it to India.
Photographs and videos of Sathish with the dog were also shared widely on social media.
This prompted the ED to investigate possible violations under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). ED officers found no trace of the “rare breed”, and Satish reportedly told them it wasn’t his and he just posed for photographs.
According to the sources, the dog in the photograph was owned by another individual and was not worth Rs 50 crore as claimed.
The ED also scoured the bank statements and found no proof of a Rs 50 crore transaction.
