Earthquake hits Gujarat; tremors of magnitude 4.7 felt in various parts of state

Surat, July 17, 2016: Tremors of magnitude 4.7 were felt in various parts of South Gujarat on Sunday morning. According to the Met Department, the tremors were felt at at 9:24 am. The epicentre of the earthquake was 14 km from Surat.

The tremors were felt in areas of Randher in Surat, Amreli, Sawarkundla, Adajan in Gujarat. More details are awaited. There were no reports of any damage.
