New Delhi, Dec 06, 2017 : A strong earthquake that was estimated to measure 5.5 on the Richter scale struck Uttarakhand around 8:50 pm on Wednesday. Strong tremors were felt in Delhi and other areas across northern India.
Tremors were also reported from Uttaranchal, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
As per IMD, the epicentre of the earthquake was Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag, with a Magnitude of 5.5 and depth of 30 km.
EMSC located the epicentre between the hill shrine of Kedarnath and the town of Pipalkoti in Uttarakhand.
Mild tremors were also felt in Dehradun, Patiala and Chandigarh today.
