June 15, 2015: A buyer from Telangana has claimed on Facebook that instead of a phone that he ordered on Flipkart, he received two mangoes. Chiluveri Srucharan, of Jagtial in Telangana, in a June 9 post on Facebook, said he had ordered the phone on Flipkart on May 26, citing order number 0D002947033911410000.
"I booked a mobile on Flipkart 26th May order number 0D002947033911410000 but I getting 2 mangos (sic) on courier so be careful," Mr Srucharan’s Facebook post says. He describes himself as an electrical engineer in his Facebook profile.
Mr Srucharan initially thought it was a delivery mismatch but later found that the order number on the box matched his, so he approached Flipkart, a report said quoting him.
The report quoting him says that Flipkart has promised a replacement.
A statement from Flipkart is awaited.
This is not first such complaint against the e-commerce companies in India. Last year, a customer was delivered a soap bar and a brick instead of a Samsung cellphone he had ordered on Snapdeal.
