Ranchi, Nov 3: According to IT officials the former Jarkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda was not fully cooperating with the investigations underway against him on charges of amassing disproportionate assets. Meanwhile, search in various cities continued even on Monday. The search is led by the officials of the Income Tax Department and Enforcement Directorate.
It is learnt that so far Koda has divulged some details on the investments he had made in different places as well as the identity of the persons involved in the illegal transactions.
According to sources, documents related to investments of Koda and his associates Vinod Kumar Sinha and Sanjay Chaudhary have been seized. The raid against the former Jarkhand CM is learnt to be one of the largest raid against anyone who has developed his network not only in different states of India but also in foreign nations.
Over 70 bank accounts and lockers have been frozen so far, while jewellery worth over Rs 2 crore, cash amounting to Rs 2.7 crore have been recovered from various places during the searches.IT officials have also seized documents worth Rs 550 crore sent through hawala to African nations, Dubai, Thailand and Malyasia. The IT department is also likely to seek Interpol help in probing this case.
More than 100 houses and companies in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow and Ghaziabad were raided including the residences of the chartered accountants of Sinha and Chowdhury.

Ranchi, Nov 2: Income Tax sleuths in a massive raid at 70 places in eight Indian states, recovered documents relating to huge investment apart from millions of cash as part of the investigation into the charges against MP and former Jarkahnd Chief Minister Madhu Koda of holding disproportionate assets.
According to IT Department Director Ujjal Kumar Chowdhury, the operation was also against Koda’s accomplices Sanjay Chowdhury and Kumar Sinha. He further added that the raids are on the basis of intelligence reports.
It is learnt, several deals were struck when Madhu Koda was the Minister for Mines and Geology during the Chief Ministership of Arjun Munda. In fact an FIR had also been filed against Koda for owning assets disproportionate to his income. It may be recalled here that several corruption charges are pending aginst Koda.
