Bangalore, Nov 4: The Karnataka Police who were in for criticism after they detained a Jammu and Kashmir cricketer Pervez Rasool and his room mate Merajuddin, when explosives detecting gadget picked up signals from his bag, have suffered yet another jolt with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report suggesting that the cricketer’s luggage did not contain any residual of any explosive substance including RDX.
The report has come two weeks after police picked up Rasool for questioning and seized his bag, after the incident at the Chinnaswamy stadium just before a match was to begin for the CK Naidu Trophy.
The detention of the two players had sparked off protests from the J&K Cricket Association which had even demanded an apology from the KSCA. The Bangalore police however had let the two free after interrogation on grounds of lack of evidences.
