Bangalore, October 27: The five disqualified independent MLAs today filed a fresh petition before the Karnataka High Court, challenging the order of Speaker K G Bopaiah on a petition filed by some voters from their assembly constituencies.
On October 9, some voters from the assembly constituencies of these MLAs had filed a complaint before Bopaiah, on the basis of which the Speaker disqualified them the next day.
This petition will be heard by a new division bench on November 2 along with another one filed by these MLAs challenging the Speaker’s order, disqualifying them on the basis of a petition filed before Bopaiah by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.
On Oct 18, a division bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar had stated that the petition filed by the five independent MLAs will be heard by a new division bench on November 2.
