New Delhi, Oct 14, 2014: The Enforcement Directorate has issued a notice to Flipkart over the alleged irregularities in the company’s Big Billion Day sale. There are reports that the ED may impose a penalty of Rs.1,000 crore on Flipkart.
Flipkart in its statement to IndiaToday.in said that it has done nothing wrong.
"We are in complete compliance with the laws of the land and will cooperate with authorities when required," said a spokesperson.
There were many complaints against Flipkart’s Big Billion Day sale. While consumers complained of glitches and cancelled orders, offline retailers said that the deals put up by Flipkart were predatory in nature and harmed and business environment in India.
Government had earlier said that it would look into the complaints.
"We have received many complaints. Concerns have been expressed. We will look into it," said commerce and industry minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
