New Delhi, Feb 3: The Delhi Police on Friday arrested one of the founder members of the Indian Mujahideen from Bihar. He was identified as Tariq.
According to sources, Tariq is an ideologue responsible for indoctrinating Indian Mujahideen cadres.
He was a part of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) till 1998, following which, he along with Riyaz, Iqbal and Yasin Bhatkal formed the Indian Mujahideen.
He had earlier escaped from Shaheen Bagh in Delhi during a police raid.
Tariq has been arrested from Bihar and his role in recent blasts is being ascertained.
