Mumbai, Nov 14: Four real estate agents from Panvel were found brutally murdered in a farmhouse in Shiravali village of Raigad district early this morning.
The heads of three of them were smashed with a stone while the fourth had bullet wounds from a revolver, police said. The victims have been identified as Nitin Joshi, Balram Chaupanne, Pritam Gharat and Ramdas Patil, all hailing from Panvel, police said.
The farmhouse was owned by Datta Patil, a local agriculture group activist, whose nephew - Ramdas Patil - was among those four killed, police said.
The four were reported to be missing since Sunday, police said.Police Commissioner of Navi Mumbai A K Sharma said, one of the victims Ramdas patil had taken the keys of the farmhouse from his under Datta Patil saying he would be entertaining guests for a business meeting.
The real estate agents came to the farmhouse on Sunday evening, and the party began, Sharma said.
The guests had come in two cars and a motorbike. Two days later, when Ramdas Patil did not return the keys, Dattu Patil, the owner, sent his servant to the farmhouse to enquire.
The female gardener saw a body early this morning and informed her employer, who in turn, called in the police.
Commissioner Sharma said, it appeared to be a property dispute which led to the brutal murders.
Police is trying to gather clues with the help of forensic experts.
