New Delhi, Jan 24, 2019 : More than five people were trapped after a four-storey building collapsed in Ullawas area of Gurugram early on Thursday, Hindustan Times reported.
According to the agency, rescue operation to pull the people under the debris is underway. Visuals showed a bulldozer clearing debris as three teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been rushed to the site of the building collapse.
Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh said, “NDRF and SDRF teams are present at the spot. The rescue operation is underway. The owner of the building has been traced. The cause of the building collapse can be ascertained only after investigation.”
SDM Gurugram, Sanjeev Singla, said that the building was unstable and was being built without any technical expertise. “Almost 150 people are carrying out rescue ops. We are being told that 6-7 people are trapped under the debris but exact number is yet to be ascertained,” he said.
