Mumbai, Dec 13, 2013: Retired Army chief General VK Singh took a dig at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal at Anna Hazare’s fast demanding the Lokpal in Ralegan Siddhi.
In his speech in support of Anna Hazare, VK Singh said, "Some people think they are bigger than Anna (seemingly referring to Arvind Kejriwal)."
AAP’s Gopal Rai, who was also present there objected to it. Gopal Rai got angry and tried to react. Anna then intervened and asked Gopal Rai to be quiet and asked VK Singh to continue his speech.
Anna even told Rai that if he wanted to interrupt speeches like this, he should leave the fast venue right away.
Gopal Rai later called General VK Singh a Modi supporter and said, "When VK Singh got up on stage and started spouting accusations, that’s when I interrupted him. It saddens me that the man who left Anna to promote Narendra Modi, and support him to get a party ticket, is chastising me. Anna is like a father to me, he has the right to say these things. I will remain on my fast as long as he does."
Some of the main supporters are reportedly unhappy with AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal for hijacking Anna Hazare’s India Against Corruption (IAC) agenda for political benefits.
