Bengaluru, March 15, 2025: The state government has reiterated its commitment to increasing the salaries of Anganwadi workers and assistants as per the party’s election manifesto.
Speaking in the Legislative Council, Minister for Women and Child Development Lakshmi Hebbalkar assured that Anganwadi workers will receive a monthly salary of Rs 15,000, while assistants will be paid Rs 10,000, as promised in the party’s manifesto. She stated that the government, which has three years left in its term, will ensure the implementation of this commitment within the given timeframe.
During the Question Hour, BJP MLC K. Prathap Simha Nayak raised concerns, stating that despite a recent increment of Rs 1,000 in their honorarium, Anganwadi workers are currently receiving only Rs 11,250 to Rs 11,500 per month. He reminded the government of its manifesto promise to systematically increase their salaries to the assured amounts.
