Hyderabad, Feb 20, 2024: A 28-year-old man, preparing for his wedding, died of an alleged anesthesia overdose at a dental clinic in Hyderabad. The incident happened on February 16, when the man visited the dental clinic for a procedure to enhance his smile ahead of his wedding.
In a statement, the family of the man, identified as Laxmi Narayan, said he had gone to the clinic for a ’smile designing’ procedure.
Later that evening, Narayan’s father, Vinjam Ramulu, called his son’s phone, which was answered by the clinic staff.
They informed Narayan’s father that his son had fallen unconscious during the process.
His family claimed Narayan was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the family filed a complaint against the dental clinic, under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code (causing death by negligence).
The family also alleged Narayan was administered anesthesia in excess, which led to his death.
The police gathered the CCTV evidence from the clinic and further investigations into the case were underway.
