Gujarat Policeman Seen Dancing with Woman in Viral Video, Faces Action

Surat, Dec 26, 2014:  In a viral video, a Gujarat policeman is seen shaking a leg with a dancer while on duty at an event in Surat.

Sub-inspector DC Solanki faces action after being seen showering money on a bar dancer and later joining her on stage at an event in September. The performance, filmed on mobile phone and circulated on WhatsApp, has come to haunt him three months later.

"We have initiated inquiry against police Sub-Inspector DC Solanki after we saw his video where he was seen dancing with a bar-girl in Dindoli area in Surat city, even when he was on duty," police officer J M Baloch said.

Mr Solanki had reportedly gone for ’Vishwakarma Poojan’ on September 19 and that is where he started dancing with the woman. The video surfaced this week and led to a departmental inquiry against the official.

The police in Surat have submitted a preliminary report to the city police chief, Rakesh Asthana.
