Rohtas, Nov 12, 2016: A journalist of a Hindi daily was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Rohtas district’s Sasaram on Saturday morning.
Sources said Dharmendra Singh, a reporter with Dainik Bhaskar, was at a tea stall near his house early in morning when three bike-borne assailants opened fire, striking him in the chest.
The incident took place near Amra Lake in the Mufassil police station area.
Locals rushed an injured Singh to the Sadar Hospital Sasaram, where he received primary treatment and was referred to Varanasi. However, Singh succumbed to the gunshot injuries on his way to Varanasi.
Police are investigating the incident and carrying out of raids to nab the assailants, who remain at large.
