Ahmedabad, Jan 05, 2023: Hindu group Bajrang Dal vandalised a mall in Ahmedabad on Wednesday over the promotion of actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer ’Pathaan’ movie. They tore down posters of the upcoming movie which is scheduled for a release on January 25.
Ahead of the release of the film, the Hindu group created a ruckus at Alphavan Mall in Ahmedabad. Apart from tearing down the posters of the flick, they also warned them not to release it in the theatres.
Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham’s starrer film ’Pathaan’ has been in the middle of multiple controversies since the release of its song "Besharam Rang’.
The ’Besharam Rang’ song, in which Padukone is clad in a saffron-coloured bikini, has not gone down well with many people -- mostly right-wing politicians, religious fanatics, on both sides, and self-proclaimed moral police.
Activists have staged protests against the upcoming Bollywood film ’Pathaan’ and its song ’Besharam Rang’ since the release of the song. They burnt an effigy of Shah Rukh Khan and called for its ban for "hurting Hindu sentiments".
