New Delhi, July 27, 2015: Home Minister Rajnath Singh said he had asked security forces to tighten security on the border with Pakistan after the terror attack on a bus and a police station in Punjab on Monday morning. Four civilians and two policemen have been killed in the attacks.
In a tweet, Ms Singh said he had spoken to the head of Border Security Force and "instructed him to step up the vigil on India-Pakistan border". A top level security meeting will be held soon in New Delhi.
At least three terrorists allegedly crossed over into Hiranagar in Jammu a little before 5 am and then drove to Gurdaspur in Punjab, 85 km away.
The terrorists, wearing army uniforms, attacked a bus station and stormed a police station in Dinanagar, killing three persons, wounding at least six and taking an unknown number of hostages.
Five bombs were also found on a railway track in the state where India fought Sikh insurgency in the 1980s.
